Bulldog Invitational Track & Field Meet - Rantoul
Saturday, April 30, 2022
Schools and Coaches:
We will be hosting our annual invitational track meet this year in Rantoul on Saturday, April 30. The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a scratch meeting promptly at 8:10. The meet will be held at the RTHS track located on Route 136 in Rantoul. Busses will be allowed to park at the former Myna Thompson School just to the west of the high school and on Wabash Avenue (1 block to the south of the school). We only ask that the spots on the north side of the track be reserved for fan parking. There will be a slight admission charge for fans, $5 for adults, $3 for students. There will also be a concession stand.
We will have a FAT system in place this year. Entries will be made on Athletic.net. Entries are limited to two per individual events per grade level and 1 team per relay at each level. We will be having both boys and girls events at both the 7th and 8th grade levels. We will not be running the pole vault. Entries will close on April 28th at 8 p.m. A meet program will be sent to coaches on Friday. Substitutions can be made by email on Friday evening (opicasso213@gmail.com) or turned in to the timing station when you arrive at the meet. After the coaches meeting, no subs will be accepted. Scratches should be reported to the judge/clerk of the event at the start of the event.
This year I believe we will have all timing covered, but we will need one coach from each team to work at a field event for part of the day (a schedule will be provided). We will need a few schools to work the exchange zones during relays. Hopefully, with everyone’s cooperation this meet will run smoothly. Starting blocks will be provided. Teams will be responsible for their own batons, shot put and discus. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at 217.597.4067 or by e-mail at opicasso213@gmail.com . No entries will be accepted without payment.
The following are some general policies for the meet.
- The track is all weather so only ¼” pyramid spikes will be allowed.
- No tape on the track or jumping areas, only cut tennis balls, chalk or bean bags.
- Only competitors and coaches will be allowed inside the track area.
- Camps will not be allowed in the north bleachers. Camps can be made in the south bleachers and any grass areas outside of the track.
- Scoring will be 10-8-6-4-2-1
- Please help make sure teams help keep their areas clean. Trash bags will be available at the concession stand.
- Inclement weather - If the track meet is cancelled by J.W. Eater Junior High School - each school will receive a full refund.
- Refunds will not be granted if a school cancels their entries less than 14 days before the meet.
